RIVERSIDE WALK IN VALLS
/PROJECT BY ELISABET FÀBREGA + OLGA VIRTANEN

The riverside walk takes into consideration Valls' medieval fabric, dimensions, built-empty proportions
and its limits with an empty hilly space.
The proposal focuses on the limits formalized on the one side by the old city and its volumes and,
on the other side, by the river.
The walkside: A lineal contiunuous trace along the river and a superimposed one creting roadway widenings. The first one adapts to the irregular terrain with a rather continuous slope while the second one provides intersections with the inner city fabric with different spaces linked to buildings.
The idea is to recover the old fabric's identity bringing new larger typologies and exempted volumes.
The industrial fabric is also taken into consideration.
A Health Care Center articulates the public space by generating two different-natured squares.
